Field of study

Genome evolution

Research interests

Gene regulation has been shown to play a crucial role in organismal evolution, and this fundamental realization has become especially exciting with the advent of the genomic age. Therefore, I am planning to study not only how gene regulation evolves, but how it evolves within a whole-genome perspective. I am particularly interested in the evolution of gene regulatory networks, with emphasis on how overall network structure both relates to and affects the evolutionary potential, or evolvability, of organisms.
