- Every Friday of the Year @ 3:00! Friday afternoon Frisbee and Fun in the Arb - Every Friday at 3:00 PM come to the arb to play some just-for-fun ultimate, maybe have some snacks, and chill with a fun crowd. The fun won't stop with winter - sledding, assuming it snows this year. Sledding is at its best at night in the Arb.

Learn about community access to fresh food in Detroit. Some interesting speakers involved with community gardens and farmers markets in Detroit. Speakers from Earthworks gardens, HOPE food center, and MSU. Notice posted by SEEDS.
- October 7th ~9am to 3 pm SEEDS field trip to the George Reserve. Email Ashley (aelarsen@umich.edu) if you want to go. We especially are encouraging freshman and sophomores who are interested in becoming a part of the SEEDS core to come. Once at the reserve, the group will be led by Professors John Vandermeer and Ivette Perfecto as well as EEB graduate students. We will get to explore the reserve and likely participate in the EEB 477 Field Ecology projects for this week. This is a great opportunity to see some local research in action and interact with professors, graduate students and SEEDS members.
- October 9th at (Tuesday at 8pm). Meet in the DANA commons. We will briefy discuss our activities for October and how the September activities went. Following the meeting we are going to show PLANET EARTH. This is going to be the first of the series and all of our meetings the rest of the semester will show some portion of these DVDs. SO--bring some popcorn and get excited for the upcoming SEEDS activities!
October 21st Hudson Mill Metropark Workday. An educational diddy about the ecosystems and invasives, we’ll work on removing honeysuckle from a prairie fen to open it up for natives. October 22nd. 7:30 PM. E.O. Wilson Lecture. MSU Wharton Center Great Hall. $20. Wilson has published many books and hundreds of articles on ecology, evolution, behavior, biodiversity and conservation. He is one of the major figures in biology over the past several decades, and he continues to be an extraordinarily productive writer and thinker. October 23—24th. 9—11 PM. Planet in Peril Documentary. A new two-part, four-hour documentary coming up on CNN. The work examines four issues: climate change, vanishing habitats, disappearing species and human population growth. The first part is on the 23rd and the second part is on the 24th
